How to tell if an apartment does low income housing?

Is there a way to find out if an apartment complex does low incomes housing? I recently asked a leasing agent at my building and they said they can't legally say. Although I'm pretty sure they started allowing low income housing as the place I'm staying at has been overpriced and they have been having a hard time filling up the apartments until recently. I'm starting to look for new places and would like to make sure anyplace I scope out does not do low income housing. Anyone know of a site to find this info without having to contact the housing authority? I'm in the Boston area.
