My Ipod Touch 4g screen cracked?

Soo yeah, the title says it all. It's not just one crack, its ALOT of them. And a little part by the camera on the front chipped off so you can even see some wires and yeah, it's pretty bad. Can I send my ipod to be repaired? And also, if they change the screen, will it erase everything in the ipod?? Do you guys know anyplace where I can send it and it won't caust that much? I live in California if that helps.
