Is there anyplace online to learn about Japanese WW2 heroes?

So doing a Google search I really only came up with two sites that had much to do with the topic, one is about commanders, who may loosely be termed hero's, the other was about an individual and questioned if he was a hero or criminal. Looking for medal citations didn't bring anything up at all. It would seem that this is something that might need to be done either on a Japanese site, which I wouldn't be able to read or through a Japanese consulate to get better information.
