I teach English to Grades 8, 9, and 11 and am looking for some refreshing, warm-up, get ready for the regular lessons again types of activities. We're returning Monday after the two week mid-term break, and I think it's tough for everybody to just start up again full speed.

What are some alternatives to treadmills and tracks?

I'm sick of treadmills and how dull they are and I don't have anyplace in my town that's pedestrian friendly to runners. What are some alternatives? I hate staring at the timer on a treadmill and I can only enjoy my ipod for so long!

sounds like too much overhead watering i am in high desert too. you have to deep water the tomatoes once maybe twice a week this mean a slow drip at the base of plant directly into the soil, do this overnight for new plants this causes the roots to go deep to seek the water, removing the first set of leaves at the base of the plant also helps to strengthen the plant. never water the leaves or the fruit directly this causes the water to cook the plants in desert heat. too much water also cause the fruit to burst or develop fungal infections , try rabbit manure for more natural fertilizing. Miracle grow is often too harsh and it burns the plants . tomatoes changing colors while ripening is typical but not the soft blotchy fruit. remember tomatoes ARE weeds too! and like most weeds they often do best when not over cared for.

Sleepover Dilemma!?! Help!?

I'm having a sleepover with me and my friend Laura. I'm that kinda person who sorta has trouble falling asleep. So it's 4:20am, We were planning on staying up till 2 or 3. But she ended up falling asleep at 12:30am! So she is asleep now, and i'm awake! Everyone in my whole house is asleep! And i can't sleep! Me AND HER had 2 cans of Sprite, but it said 'No Caffeine added' So im not that tired! But she is...anyway i almost fell asleep, like i was comfortable, and 10 minutes passed and i was half-way asleep but not quite! So what do i do? BTW, i'm not even CLOSE to tired! And when i stay up 24 hours, during the day, i'm a monster! I am soooooooooooooooooooo TIRED! So any tips and suggestions? And im in my room so i can't go downstairs and get warm milk so any tips or suggestions of what i should do, and how to sleep faster? Btw, she is still sleeping!

Ar 15 bieng an inaccurate sh*t head?

my m&p15 is shooting low. like way low. like 1ft low at 100 yards kinda low i sighted it in at 25 yards. and it shot high about 8 inches at 100 yards. now its shooting low (all of this is at 100 yards) i shot 4 loads of reloaded ammo on the 5 targets on a grid target and they all showed up in one big hole in the middle of the target at 25 yards i couldnt get anything on paper at 100 yards. i would like to know why my riifle is ****in up. i aprecciate your time thank you. also its a sport so it doesnt have a chrome lined barrel if that makes a difference the reloads were shooting the same as factory ammo i shot the same day so its not them... i have a 6x optic by ncstar that my dad got me for my birthday. maybe its bent haha.

Car overheating? What is the problem?

I have an older car 96 Olds. In the warmer months the temp gauge seems to go a little high. The hottest temp it goes to on my gauge is 280 and the needle gets to approx 240 at times. When the car is moving fast like freeway driving it stays lower 210-220 maybe. When I am city driving or idoling it goes right up high. Would a coolant flush and fill help this problem? Also it is ok to drive a car running hotter like this. I have to wait a week for a payday to get it looked at. Any ideas would be helpful. I just don't want to ruin anything. Thank you.

So Im determined to go to college in California because that state is AMAZING!!! My first question is what are some good colleges out there and Im smart and I volunteer and stuff so I don't want a school that's easy to get into. My next question is where are nice towns in California? I want a town that is an hour or less away from the beach and I want it to be well put together, warm, low crime rates, low pollution and overall a great place to raise a family when im ready. I know that where ever you go in Cali there are earthquakes but is there a town that has all these qualities but doesn't get that effected by earthquakes and also wildfires? Powerbrick went crazy after x clamp fix?

I don't know what i did but i did the the x clamp fix and now my 360 powerbrick is just flashing all colors red,orange,and green although instead of using thermal paste i used gasket maker could that be the problem? double feeds happen, depends what type of gun your talking about. I would say it is harmless, just clear the weapon reload and continue to fire. If they keep happening check the ammo, clean the gun and if that does not help take it to a gunsmith.

DNS server problem PLEASE HELP!!!?

I am using a sony vaio vgn-nw240f laptop with Windows 7 on a wireless connection with a linksys router. It worked fine until last night when it started telling me that the webpage could not be displayed due to a DNS server error in google chrome, IE worked intermittently however. I have changed my preferred DNS server to 208.67.222.222 and my alternate DNS server to 208.67.220.220, this allows chrome to work intermittently although it is incredibly slow, will not load my facebook apps or any browser games and webpages only display after repeatedly reloading them. The other laptop in the house, running windows xp is working ok. I really have to get this fixed and have been searching all day to find a fix without luck. Also, I can't access the routers setup page, when I do it asks for a password and my room mate insists that there is no password. What else can I do?! I have tried turning off the modem and router and rebooting them without luck. My computer installed updates last night and I can only assume that it has something to do with that but I don't know how to fix it. I also tried turning off my firewall but that didn't fix anything either. Please, someone, help!!!

Today, I received a very late birthday present from a friend of mine. He gave me a MyTreat Prepaid Visa Card. I used it for some stuff and fell in love with the non-existing annoying process of using a Debit Card. This got me wondering, so I did some research. I found out that my card can't be reloaded but their are ones that can. I noticed that Visa Reloadable had a dumb monthly fee while the MasterCard Reloadable didn't. Is it normal for a 15 year old girl to get hot flashes?

I've had them occasionally for almost as long as I can remember. It usually happens when I'm in a lot of pain, I'll have hot flashes (this is especially true when i get bad stomach aches) or when it's too hot (obviously lol). I get them maybe once or twice a week. I'm also really sensitive to temperatures though, like if it's kind of chilly out I'll be freezing to death, or if it's a little warm I'm sweating buckets. Youtube problem loading, red bar?

Its not that videos dont load, its that i dont see the red bar getting larger when it does. It loads but the bar that indicates how much is loaded doesnt even move at all even when it is fully loaded and when i reset after loading the whole vid, I'll try to forward and it'll reload as if it wasnt loaded entirely. Why is my computer's internet going out?

Alright I just recently moved out of my grandparent's house, within the past 3 months. And since then my computer's internet has been acting up. I moved into a place with a friend of mine where his laptop has 3/4-4/4 bars of internet all the time. My computer on the other hand has 2/4 or sometimes it even reads the internet as having 5 bars and typically I get 2 or 3 of 5 at that point. Me and him both play WoW and other online games and it's beginning to be a problem. I constantly disconnect. I haven't taken the computer in to anyplace yet because I'm unsure of if that would even be of help. I've thought that the issue may be in with my wireless internet card, or there may be some files slowing down my computer and internet alike. But I'm not sure which is why I'm posting on here. I'm also curious as to what the consequences of doing a full system restore would be outside of losing all my music and current files. I'm not fully sure what is done on my computer while I'm at work or out either. So people may be on unsafe websites but I'm not sure because obviously I'm not here. Thanks for any help!

Why should we care about global warming?

It is not going to produce any lasting impacts on my life, so why should I be forced to pay exorbitant taxes just because of the "future of the human race"? I don't care if all life is eradicated on earth within 150 years, so long as it does not happen in my life time. I think most Americans share that sentiment. So, even if countries are trying to reduce their "carbon emissions", what are they going to do about our proudly excessive "carbon emissions"? DNS server problem PLEASE HELP!!!?

I am using a sony vaio vgn-nw240f laptop with Windows 7 on a wireless connection with a linksys router. It worked fine until last night when it started telling me that the webpage could not be displayed due to a DNS server error in google chrome, IE worked intermittently however. I have changed my preferred DNS server to 208.67.222.222 and my alternate DNS server to 208.67.220.220, this allows chrome to work intermittently although it is incredibly slow, will not load my facebook apps or any browser games and webpages only display after repeatedly reloading them. The other laptop in the house, running windows xp is working ok. I really have to get this fixed and have been searching all day to find a fix without luck. Also, I can't access the routers setup page, when I do it asks for a password and my room mate insists that there is no password. What else can I do?! I have tried turning off the modem and router and rebooting them without luck. My computer installed updates last night and I can only assume that it has something to do with that but I don't know how to fix it. I also tried turning off my firewall but that didn't fix anything either. Please, someone, help!!!

Cannot access modem from desktop but fine from laptop?

I was having problems with my desktop so I reloaded Windows XP onto it. In the meantime I have had my laptop connected directly into my cable modem to use the internet for a couple of weeks. I want to have my wireless network downstairs from the desktop and according to the router and cable company instructions I need to be able to access the internet from the computer (the dekstop) in order to install the router. My problem is that I have the modem all set up and connected to the cable and into the desktop but it won't connect to the internet. In this same configuration, if I plug the Ethernet to my laptop I have my internet connection. Because I just reloaded Windows XP and it is a completely clean slate, is there anything I have to do to that computer to allow it to go online because it can't be a problem with the modem since I am using it to type this question. What should I do? Thanks!

Is my turbocharger blown or is it a boost leak?

I've got an 87 Toyota Supra single turbo and this is my first turbocharged vehicle so I'm still trying to learn about them. I've been driving my car around fine up until this morning. It seems like after the car warms up the turbo will make a "whining" noise kinda like a supercharger for just a few seconds when it starts to boost. Then it stops! After I stop boosting then start again, it does the same thing! The car is still hitting 5-7psi no problem, but once I hold steady boost for a while it seems like the car is losing power.

What happened to my knee?

About a week ago I was playing tennis and doing my morning workout. But after that day, I notice pain on my right knee. I have never had this pain on my knee before. Will advil help relieve DOMS?

i decided to start working out to improve my overall strength and i devoted an entire session (hour and a half) to arms only, because that is what i really want. i focused on my biceps and triceps only and was relentlessly performing back to back power sets, alternating between bicep and triceps work outs. i warmed up well, that is not a concern, so please do not think of it as such. anyways now 2 days later i have severe aches in my biceps that wont let me straighten my arms. i know that this is typical DOMS, i did do research and understand that. what i dont understand however is whether i can take aspirin to temporarily relieve the pain in my arms, because when i researched it i got a confusing mix of results. so if anyone knows whether i can use aspirin to relieve DOMS effectively please say so.

As my HP printer died a little while back, I decided to buy an Lexmark 3-1 printer over the weekend. The printer seems to install fine with the provided disc. However, once it finished installing, I receive a message 'Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)'. I have reloaded the drivers 3 times from Lexmak website, but no such luck. I have spoken to Lexmark for an hour who said the printer and my laptop were working fine and it was a Vista problem.

Not quite. 44-40 rifle loads claiming 1800 fps were loaded at one time, but chronographs weren't then what they are now. I doubt if those old balloon-head cases could have handled that sort of pressure. But there were hot rifle loads that couldn't be used in revolvers, and people actually paid attention to the warning rather than blowing off their hands and suing the manufacturer! Im 9 months preg and just gained 25 pounds how long until I get back to normal?

The weights pretty much all in my baby belly. I dont have fat anyplace else. How long will it take around for my stomach to be about 70-90% less fat and saggy? I've been in your shoes. When one is down, having a more compassionate doctor helps someone. The last thing a person wants is to have a person that is the opposite of that. People in that career should be more understanding. Just know that you aren't alone when it comes to insurance and different types of doctors. Try to take her at face value and know it's not you. It's her personality and nothing personal towards you. As far as email is concerned, my doctor didn't like me emailing her either. Don't they realize email is how people communicate these days? I know they like seeing one face to face, but in between appts would be nice if they didn't mind emails. About the medications, I'm on medications and I feel much better. If they can help you feel better in life, give them a try. Sometimes though, they have to find the right medication for you; therefore, you may have to go thru different ones until you find the one that works for you. And remember that they don't work right away. also, the way we think, determines how we feel. It's not easy, but try teaching yourself that. Lastly, hang in there. You aren't alone!

Question on pickup trucks with refrigerator box units -?

I would very much like to take a camping trip soon to take a break from college. As a poor college student, I would place inexpensiveness towards the top of my priorities. Why is my internet so slow?

My internet is absolute garbage, i dont know whats going on its really fustrating. The Mbps change by the second from 8 Mbps to 36 Mbps. Also the signal sometimes is at 2 bars and changes to 4 bars. Is there a way to find out if an apartment complex does low incomes housing? I recently asked a leasing agent at my building and they said they can't legally say. This person said a lot of hurtful crazy things, even threatened my life, and is the only person who my family said, if I have anything to do with them again, they will never have anything to do with me and I will never see my children again. Wearing speedos in a public place?

Here in the US, speedo's aren't popular and are considered too skimpy for other than for a swim meet. But by any ordinance I've seen, a speedo doesn't cross the line (and believe me, some of the ordinances are extremely detailed). Even so, wearing less than people around you consider appropriate, whether it be a speedo in the park, or a bigger swimsuit in the shopping mall, they aren't going to like it. You could put up with offending them, but you're better off trying to find a secluded place, improving the privacy of your back yard, or making the journey to a nude beach or nudist resort.

heres what you do, find someone who is a total noob at airsoft, and sell it to them, then save your money and buy a good gun, you could not possibly fix that thing because they are all wired like ****, cuz they are ****, sorry but they are, and dont waste your money by getting a aeg thats like $130, i would recommend if you dont want to spend over $200, then go for the dboys scar, but if i were you i would just keep saving my money, because the scar will have problems sooner or later, i would save $300-$400 and get some amazing gun either a KWA, Classic Army, VFC, King Arms, but do your research on em and see what you want, those guns are going to last you a while though, and you will be happy with their performance, i wasted $300 on crappy guns, and i wish i would have just saved that and spent it on 1 good gun, if your going to spend under $250 id go with a very good sniper, like a utg l96, or a tsd sd98 or somthing good, and be a sniper, cuz those are generally less maintinence than AEG's, before you buy anything though just DO YOUR RESEARCH, look at forums, different airsoft websites for price comparisons, stick to evike, airsoftgi, and maybe airsoftmegastore, and watch youtube vids on the guns to learn about them

How dangerous is it in Australia?

I was a New Zealander and have lived in Australia many many years. I have travelled extensively in Australia and done some beautiful bush walks. Swam in the ocean and never seen a funnel web or white tailed spider. I have seen a few red back spiders and they are certainly no danger to me as they live out doors under things but leave a tangled web so I know if one is around and get the fly spray out. They come out of their little hide hole . I have only ever seen a handful of snakes and they haven't been in my way. There are dangers lurking but most people never encounter them. One would not stand next to the rivers in the tropical regions here without knowing that there are definitly no crocs in them and also one doesn't swim during the wet season in the sea in the trooics either. down South or places like the Gold Coast one always swims between the red and yellow flags as that's where the life guards watch and spotter planes go over to check for sharks. The Gold Coast has shark nets out to sea. I love australia i love the weather and the diverse nature of this wonderful land. So come on over.

Choose to stay with girlfriend and hate your job OR leave your girlfriend for a job you love?

I'm in grad school and next year i have the potential to work anywhere/anyplace. But with the job market so bad, I'm willing to work pretty much anywhere that gives me a decent living. However, whats the point of all the money if you have nobody to share it with. At the same time, being tied down to a girl can also hold you back in the working ladder; meaning that I may get stuck with a job that i hate. I suppose more money would get better girls, but I don't want a shallow relationship. I want a real loving relationship, but that takes too much time to invest. Do I have frostbite or frostnip?

This sounds ridiculous, but I was scooping ice cream at a friend's house and they must have a sub zero freezer because my finger started tingling and burning while I was scooping it out. I had to use my finger to get the ice cream which was sticking to the scooper off. I went to run it under warm water but I accidentally turned the cold on first and it felt hot to me. I then let it warm up and it still felt hot even though it was just warm. It is now 4 hours later and my finger is burning, tingling, and feeling kind of numb but there isn't really much color difference. It might just be slightly more red than my other fingers. No blisters or anything like that. It does feel a little tight around the skin on the tip of it. I put soothing cream on it but it is just burning and hurts worse when I touch it on anything. It's pretty painful!

shot shell loading is really not saving much money until you reload like 410 ammo but i reload them using a LEE brand shot shell reloader I bought from bass pro new for 45.00 bucks it's awesome rifle reloading I am just getting into my self I have found it is much cheaper to buy everything except primers and powder off the internet I would recommend the LEE breech lock challenger press kit comes with every thing you need except a measuring tool and those are fairly cheap and the other stuff i listed the kit is around 115.00 bucks new from cheaper than dirt only thing you have to buy is powder,primers,bullets,brass,dies of course thats all, to get started with rifle reloading would be around $200-$250 to get started i went ahead and bought a 200 dollar powder measure and scale made by smartreloader from cheaperthandirt .com that where most my stuff came from I found it to be one of the cheapest places around to get started with the LEE load all 2 shot shell reloader around $150(give or take a little) with all you need good luck

10 POINTS! Gas water heater valve settings?

I moved into a new place and i found my tap water didn't get very warm even when i cranked it. After inspecting my water heater, I saw a dial on the TOP of the control center, it was on a blank setting with nothing written on it, I saw that it also had settings that said ON and PILOT...it made sense to turn it to on. Thinking it'd take time to heat up to see if that fixed my problem, i went to work for 8 hours and came home. It didn't fix my problem and on further inspection of my water heater i found it was set on a low vacation temperature setting. :) So i fixed my hot water problem..but want to know what i did when i turned that top valve! I tried turning it back to the blank setting but i heard the whoosh sound gas makes and switched it back to on. Is the ON setting leaking gas into my basement or something? and can i safely turn it back to the blank setting? Also, will changing it back burn out my pilot light? Help Please!

How can I safely warm up my recently colored hair?

I had my hair colored by someone new yesterday and I don't like it. I usually have some warmth and depth to it, but this stylist used a different color and it's just kind of drab. Is there a product I can use to just warm it up a bit myself, that would be safe to use over the color I just had? Or should I call the guy and tell him I'm not happy with it (awkward). Landed on my left leg wrong and heard a pop in my knee. How can i heal it?

During warm-ups I went to spike the volleyball and landed on my left leg. I heard my knee pop, but kept on playing on it. It has been two months since the incident but i still feel pain when doing certain things. I cannot straighten or bend my left leg as much as my right leg and when i do this it feels tight. I feel pain when doing physical movements like squatting, jumping and sprinting. I still jog and lift weights but i want my left knee to be 100% again. How can i heal my knee? How can I fix my computer?

My computer runs on windows xp sp2 (i think, it won't let me check). I surfed the internet for a long time without any problems. I found out later that I had a whole bunch of viruses. So I did the logical thing, got an antivirus. The problem is that at least one of the viruses was imbeded in the operating system files, because now when I click on a shortcut on the desktop it will only go to the "open with..." screen. So I went to the control panel but it did the same thing when I clicked on anything in there. It will run files that are already saved like word document and such (if the've been saved prior.) but it doesn't seem to be able to open shortcuts. So I would like to know whats wrong with my computer and if there is anyway to fix it without reformatting the hard-drive, reloading the operating system, and basically starting over and deleting everything.

Caring for a wild baby rabbit?

I recently discovered two baby rabbits my dog had found, the dog killed one and had the other in its mouth. I was able to rescue it and brought it inside. Its eyes are open but it doesn't seem to be able to walk. I don't think the dog paralyzed it because if you pick it up it strains to get away. I hope to get it to a wildlife group in the next few days. At the moment I have it in a basket on a towel. Is there anything I should do until the group can take it? It seems fat enough and stays warm on its own.

Well I was considering moving to arizona to live with my grandmother for quite a few reasons, it's warmer there, and there wouldn't be snow, and because I loved spending time with grandma as a kid. My grandparents moved from illinois to arizona when I was like 7 or 8 years old. My grandpa recently passed away in April, and grandma has other family in arizona to rely on, (my uncle, and his kids) and a few other family members but I mentioned moving in with grandma, because it's the only way I could afford to move out west to Arizona. My grandma sent me an email with a few things to consider such as if I was okay with staying in her guest room/sewing room & I told her I was, I thought it was a done deal I was moving out their, until I realized my grandma wants to talk with my dad about it, and my dad says she has strong reservations about it, not that she wouldn't be excited to have me their but grandma pretty much suggested going out and staying with her for a month on a vacation while we talked about all this. I thought it was a done deal, that I was moving out their (im unemployed in illinois) so I would have to look for a job and such out in Arizona. I'm really just wondering what strong reservations really means. I mean, I flat out told her that I didn't want to be a burden, is this her way of being polite and saying it may be a burden? She keeps telling me to consider other things like car insurance for a vehicle and legalizing it, considering I would have to sell my car and then buy another one out there, im just worried she will find reasons not to consider it. I pretty much feel like if I don't move out their now I probably won't because once I find a job here, im stuck here. Ya know? Is she politely trying to tell me she would rather not?
